Simgolf: Anyone Remember It?
This is of course the computer game that was created by Sid Meier in 2002 and was and still is the only game that let it’s players create and run a golf course and use a professional to play on (Good ol Gary Golfer). I had this game and I have to say that it was truly fantastic to play for a bit of fun, here are some of the things you could do with the game.
Building the courses up from nothing to everything was the best element. Of course starting the game from scratch you have to start from the very first hole. You need to decide on how long the hole has to be and you create the hole to how you want. Players can make the courses really hard if they want too with numerous bunkers and water hazards dotted over the place. You always had to make sure that you were making people happy that played on the course, this was very important to being successful.
One of the things that I always used to do is get a guy selling drinks every few holes to make money and make the golfers happy. Over time you can build the course up into a very big golf resort, these can consist of celebrity homes, airstrips and even casinos. Maintaining the place was always important and tweaking the holes too was a good thing.
You always had to make sure that you were getting rid of any weeds by hiring people to deal with it. I started to play this game again a couple of weeks ago and although the graphics really are very bad it is still a fantastic game.
So charge up those golf batteries and those UPS batteries and start playing golf. Mobility scooter batteries can be used for this purpose too.
